On February 22, a wind-driven fire swept through part of the Portola Palms Home Park burning one home and damaging several others as well as trees, fences and porches.

As soon as it was safe, Habitat was on-site to assess how we could help. Carolyn was fortunate that her mobile home was not destroyed but the fire burned up her steps and porch and damaged some sub-flooring under the unit. Our repair volunteers took out the damaged steps and built a new, sturdy set for her so she can again enter her home safely.
