An enthusiastic group gathered early last Thursday to turn over the first shovels of dirt and kick off the construction of two new Habitat homes in Desert Hot Spring. On hand were Habitat staff and board members, the City Mayor and City Council members, the City Manager, DHS Police Department representatives, firefighters from Engine Company 36 along with their shiny fire engine, and most importantly, the two families and their friends who will work with us to build their homes and futures.
